Wildest Canadian of
the Year Extreme Hockey Fans
A tie between all 65 000 people at the Commonwealth Stadium to watch the Heritage Classic. The first outdoor NHL game looks like an annual occurrence that could spread to Yankee Stadium, the Skydome, Wrigley Field, the Rideau Canel, and.Tiger Stadium. Was not it sweet to see millionaires have to play in the cold. This was the best news for the game in the US since the Rangers won the Cup. If there is a lockout next year there will not be any outdoor games The NHL must not miss this opportunity. A game that could market the game in the US could be the NY Rangers playing the Detroit Red Wings at Yankee Stadium. Subzero hockey a sure winner for Wildest Canadian moment of the year.

Villan of the YearCondelezza Rice
Originally Roger Grimes was going to win this award because the former Newfoundland Premier threatened to separate from Canada. But I decided to award this to a non-Canadian. The biggest story this year was the war in Iraq. No Canadian really stood up and led the anti-war moment but several Americans got too involved in Canadian politics. Stephen Harper and Ralph Klein wanted Canada to be America's lapdog. Now they are mute and are complaining why we are not financing the $87 billion Iraq war. Condolezza Rice wins this award because she handles the Canadian file for the American government. Most Canadians are not aware of her but they have to realize that Bush isn't the real enemy it is the evil triumvirate of Rice, Cheney, and of course of Rumsfeld. Canadians need to be terrified of her. "There was some disappointment that there seemed to be some questioning of American motives, and some lack of understanding that we were simply trying to do this in support of our own security, in support of everyone else's security ... And that disappointment will, of course, not go [away] easily. It will take some time, because when friends are in a position where we say our security's at stake, we would have thought, as we got from many of our friends, that the answer would have been, 'Well, how can we help?" Athlete of the YearPerdita Felicien
There was alot of encouraging performances by Mike Weir and Paul Tracy. But golf isn't a real sport and Indy racing is subservient to F1. The winner goes to Perdita Felicien. She stormed through the block and stunned the world by winning the women's hurdles at this year's worlds. She is now the one to beat at the 2004 Olympics. Her story was so encouraging in a summer where Canada was afflicted with SARS, Mad Cow, and West Nile. She gave Canadians something to cheer. "At least I have no fear of these girls any more. Maybe they can start being scared of me and pay some attention" Read more.

Entertainer of the YearShania Twain
Canadian entertainers had a good year. Keanu Reaves dodged bullets again in the Matrix series. Jim Carrey played another erratic character. SARSstock was the entertainment event of the year. However, the Canadian Entertainer of the Year is Shania Twain. She performed at the Super Bowl, appeared on a Maxim cover, released a new album, received a Canadian Walk of Fame award, and showed her approval for Canada staying out of the war in Iraq.
Canadian
Hero of the YearLarry Campbell
In a year where Canada was plagued with SARS doctors like Donald Low treated victims. Fires raged in BC and firefighters fought fires. Jean Charest brought the liberals back in power in Quebec. But the award goes to Vancouver Mayor Larry Campbell. After becoming Vancouver's new mayor he faced controversy about safe injection sites and hosting a referendum on the Olympic Games. The unelected IOC appeared that it would knockout Vancouver's bid but instead it worked to Vancouver's advantage as they claimed the majority of citizen's supported it. Vancouver won the Olympics. It also stood up to American objections and opened up North America's first safe ejection site. Mayor Campbell is seen as a model for other mayor's as he leads the recently named second best city in the world into the 21st century.
