Trick or Treat?

Will Gomrey's report tommorrow be a trick or a treat for the liberals? I think it will be a treat with bureaucrats like Guite and lower end Quebec liberal execs taking the blame.

Hudson Bay under a hostile takeover

No other company played a bigger role in founding Canada. Now it could be American. A US investor made a $1 Billion bid for a hostile takeover and chances are slim a Canadian could keep HBC Canadian.

It could go the way of Eaton's, CN, or Tim Horton's. He could be American or be run out of business and sold for parts. Canada's foreign investment laws are weak and we are turning into a branch plant economy where all the head offices are south of the border and we are just loyal Canadian workers working for our American bosses. How many companies will be American owned before our politicans realize we are losing control of our country.

Hudson's Bay is not just a company it is a national icon. Its traders explored our west and gave Europeans economic reasons to come to Canada. It's blankets are pictured throughout our history and it once owned half of the country. It must remain Canadian.

Watergate II and Sulu is Gay

So Cheney's top has been hit with 5 charges. With this charge hitting his aid and Halliburton I wonder how long the VP will last. His replacements have been rumoured to be everybody from Rice to McCain.

In Hockey Lemieux had to score 5 points for the pens to win their first game. The penguins make the oilers look like Stanley Cup contenders.

Elvis is highest grossing dead entertainer.

Here's the rest of the list:

1. Elvis Presley
2. Charles Schulz
3. John Lennon
4. Andy Warhol
5. Theodor Geisel
6. Marlon Brando
7. Marilyn Monroe
8. JRR Tolkien
9. George Harrison
10. Johnny Cash
11. Irving Berlin
12. Bob Marley
13. Ray Charles

and last Sulu goes boldly where no other Star Trek actor has gone before.

Right of Reality

Some pics about Alberta's prosperity cheques have surfaced on the internet. Looking at the message it
definately shows the true side of Alberta conservatives. If the liberals win the next election again some of these nut cases probably will push for separtism.

In the US Bush's nominee for the supreme court has withdrawn her nomination. With no experience as a judge even moderate republicans have had enough and don't care about the party line.

Also in this book I am reading Dancing with Strangers it talks about the domestic life of early Australian aboriginals. They beat their wives. Not just in the sense of a black eye or a broken arm. But direct blows to the head. They used axes, rocks, or any heavy object to give their spouse a massive head wound when they weren't happy with them. Often when they choose their wife they would just up to her and take her. Some of the women did fight back with (surprise) serious blows to the head. The British reaction was predictibably
"All My Goodness" (Some horrible stuff happened to the Australian native people but they have a dark past too.)

Welcome to The Blog

What the Hell has happened to the Oilers?

The Oilers need to make drastic changes. They need to call up Schremp or Poillot. If Conklin doesn't play extrodinary in the minors hthe Oilers need to look at other goalies such as Biron, Kolzig, or Kevin Weekes. The golaie will be from the eastern conference because the sharks don't want to give up Toskala and have him turn into the next Kipprusoff.
