Alberta Voters Have Their Pitchforks Out

Alberta is conservative territory. For decades any bad political decisions have been blamed exclusively on the liberals. But now with a federal and provincial conservative governments in power, both governments now have to owe up for their mistakes.

The provincial government especially has become complacent because they don't view any political party can remove them from power. Ed Stelmach has taking over the reigns from Klein is feeling the heat for Klein's errors. With Klein gone the media love-in for him has ended and now Conservative politicans now have to be accountable to the public. Klein is not the only one to blame, Stelmach has proven to be a weak leader. Also, the whole leadership process was a joke. It wasn't a battle of ideas. It was a battle between moderation and a extreme-right candidate. In the end they chose Stelmach as a compromise, rather than electing someone who wanted to fix Alberta's problems.

Alberta's rent has sky-rocketed along with homelessness, traffic problems, and labour shortages. There has been no leadership from the new conservative government and if the Liberals introduce changes favourable to Albertans, Stelmach will be the new opposition leader.
