Joe's Final Election Predictions (2004)
Liberal
Party of Canada
What can you
say about their campaign? It is the worst one since Kim
Campbell's in '93. Paul Martin is reminding me more and more of
John Turner. I think the majority of people want to shake things
up in federal politics. Maybe its a little more biased in
Alberta, but most people just do not trust or believe Martin when he
talks. Its the great Liberal recycling program of promises. Many
Canadians are not buying it this time.

Its has been
pretty much a steady as she goes for the Tories this campaign. Steven
Harper has been for the most part saying the right things, even when
controversy starts. Whether he does the right things is another
question. I was not a Harper supporter in the leadership race,
but I have been impressed on how he has conducted himself. He
does have limited appeal, so if they had someone like Manning or Lord
at the head of the party, it could have been a blowout.

Democratic Party of Canada
Well, the
pinkos are back with a vengeance. Jack Layton as bred some new
life into the party. At the same time he is their downfall.
I know quite a few people who were ready to vote for them, but between
some of his comments, and the way he kept interrupting everyone in the
leader debates, they changed their minds. They will definitely
have their best performance since 1988, but I don't think they will get
enough seats to hold the balance of power.

Bloc
Quebecois
No one has
benefited more from Ad Scam more than the Bloc. It looked like
they were heading to the political graveyard last fall. A Martin
liberal sweep of La Belle province. Oh, how a scandal can change
things. They are taking their popularity out of contexts
though. The PQ think they can win a referendum vote in five years
now. At least Duceppe is saying that is not the case, but if they
go down that road again, it could cause trouble.
Green
Party
I still want
to have fun and say they will win something in this election. If
they are to win somewhere, it would probably be in the Gulf
Islands. It is still a long shot, and it will probably not
happen, but I'll go out on a limb.
